Orange Shortbread Recipes

It's kind of mould-cut cookies. A firmer dough is rooled between two plastic warps into a thin dough.Then cut it with cookie cutters into the desired shape (the dough sometimes needs to be refrigerated).After baked and cooled, it can be decorated with glaze or royal icing which can be tinted with desired food colouring.

 

Ingredients

100g butter, 50g sugar, 1tbsp orange juice, zest of 1 orange, finely chopped. 170g flour, 20g cornfour

Directions

1.Cream butter and sugar till light. Then add in orange juice and zest and mix till well blended.

2.Fold in the sieved flours and cornflours and mix till well combined.

3.Roll it between 2 plastic sheets to a 5mm thickness, cut it with 7.5cm round cutter.

4.Place the cut dough into greased pan. Poke some holes with a fork and sprinkle some sugar on top.

5.Bake at 170 degree for 20~25 minutes or till lightly golden.

Tips

Orange zest and juice can be replaced with lemon zest and juice or with milk.
