Cinnamon Stars Recipes

It's kind of mould-cut cookies. A firmer dough is rooled between two plastic warps into a thin dough.Then cut it with cookie cutters into the desired shape (the dough sometimes needs to be refrigerated).After baked and cooled, it can be decorated with glaze or royal icing which can be tinted with desired food colouring.

 

Ingredients

3 egg whites, 400g icing sugar, 500g ground almonds, 2 tsps cinnamon powder

Royal icing (*Refer to method for making Royal Icing)

Directions

1.Mix all the ingredients to form a smooth dough.

2.Roll it between 2 plastic sheets to a 6mm thickness.

3.Cut it with star cutter and place into pan lined with baking paper.

4.Pipe the royal icing on top of the star and allow it to spread evenly. Let it sit for 30 minutes.

5.Bake at 170 degree for 20 minutes.

Tips

If the royal icing is too soft, add extra icing sugar. If it is too stiff, add extra egg white to soften it.
