American Brownies Recipes

It's kind of Bar Cookies. The texture is moister than cookies and denser than cakes. Cookies are baked in shallow pan, with or without sweet pastry. You can add chocolate bits,nuts,desiccated coconut,dried fruit,fresh fruit for even canned fruit. After baked and cooled completely, top with icing sugar or ganache and cut into square or rectangular,big or small pieces.

  

Ingredients

(A) 310g butter,250g chocolate

(B) 300g sugar, 1/8 tsp salt, 5 eggs, 1/4 tsp mint flavour

(C) 20g cocoa powder, 190g flour

(D) 150g chopped walnuts

Directions

1.Cook (A) in double- boiler over simmering water till chocolate melted.

2.Mix (B) till sugar dissolves. Then add in the cooled (A). Mix till well combined.

3.Fold in the sieved (C) and mix till well blended. Then add in (D) and mix till well incorporated.

4.Line a 31cm X 22cm Swiss Roll pan with greaseproof paper.Grease the paper. Pour the mixture.

5.Place it at the bottom rack of the oven. Bake at 180 degree for 40 minutes.

6.Let it cool for 10 minutes and remove it from the pan.

7.When cool completely, spread ganache on top and cut into pieces. Decorate top of brownies with walnuts.

Tips

Mint flavour can be replaced with 1 tbsp of instant coffee. You can use other nuts besides walnuts.
